I served as an International STEM and Space Ambassador for The Mars Generation and toured the United Arab Emirates by invitation of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) during the last two weeks of January 2017. During my tour I visited local Dubai schools, science centers and the MBRSC as well as traveling west to scuba dive in Fujairah and also visiting the Sharjah Center for Astronomy and Space Sciences. I finished my tour by speaking at the Project Space Forum in Dubai hosted by the MBRSC.
This was an amazing opportunity to bring the message of The Mars Generation about the importance of space and STEM education to students and adults in the UAE. I had the opportunity to speak with people from throughout the UAE and also witnessed first hand the work that is being done to ensure women are involved in STEM in the UAE. I was also able to tour the MBRSC Mars Hope Mission that is scheduled to launch in 2020 first hand and see the progress being made on that mission.
The people of the UAE are kind and were so generous. I had an amazing experience and have a lot of photos and videos to share with you all. Please visit my Facebook photo album here to see a bunch of great photos and visit my YouTube Channel here to see more videos beyond the videos shared below.
