Love this! Love it! Thanks to my good friend Danny Sussman – known by many people on Twitter as @TheSuss (he’s a big space nerd if you like that stuff follow him) I was introduced to this cool new nonprofit organization called RocketStem Media Foundation. Here’s a little info about RocketStem from their website:
RocketSTEM Media Foundation is a private, not-for-profit established in 2012 for the purpose of fostering science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education, as well as promoting the benefits of space exploration. Our first project is the publication of a new monthly digital magazine with content geared towards teachers, students and parents as well. The publication mixes in space history – past, present and future – with interviews, career paths, astronomy lessons, a sprinkling of aerospace news, museum features, NASA tech spinoffs, puzzles, games, quizzes, lesson plans and other educational resources, along with easy-to-follow explanations of the mathematics and physics of all things to do with aerospace and space travel. And that is just for starters.
RocketSTEM will be releasing new issues as Spring (April) and Summer (June) editions before moving to a monthly production schedule with the August 2013 issue. As well as being free to read online, future plans include releasing each issue as an enhanced multimedia application for tablet computers such as the iPad.
