I’m so excited for my first live Twitter chat today about Mars with students from the New Academy of Canoga Park in Los Angeles! It’s even more special because it’s happening on #GivetoMarsDay!
#GivetoMarsDay is a 24-hour online fundraising campaign that The Mars Generation, the nonprofit I founded in September 2015, is running to raise funds. The goal of The Mars Generation is to create excitement about human space exploration through STEM and space education outreach, as well as provide Space Camp scholarships to those kids who qualify. We also offer a Student Space Ambassador program which supports teens and young adults who have a passion for space exploration and want to share it with their communities. #GivetoMarsDay will help us provide resources and support for those programs.
The 45-minute Twitter chat will begin at 3:15pm CT. The conversation doesn’t have to be limited to Mars. We can chat about anything space-related. Connecting with students to talk about all things space and STEM is one of my passions! I encourage you to login and join the conversation. You can also participate by asking me questions using the hashtag #MarsChat. I look forward to chatting and answering any questions you may have. Of course, the students’ questions will be answered first.
While you’re waiting for the chat to begin, why not take a moment to check out our fundraising page and make a quick $10 donation to support The Mars Generation.
Give to Mars! It feels good. I promise.
