Volare Mission Recap [video]

It has been such an honor to be a small part of my mentor Astronaut Luca Parmitano’s Volare Mission to the International Space Station from May – November 2013. As Luca’s Earth Liaison, I stayed in touch with Luca via Twitter,Facebook, Google+ and email. I’ve been sharing his updates with my online audience while running my worldwide outreach program where I conduct webchats and speaking engagements around the world. (Follow my current outreach program!)

I am so thankful to have watched Luca launch to the International Space Station for this mission live in Kazakhstan with his family and friends. It was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. Following his Volare mission for 6 months has been a true privilege, filled with lots of excitement, smiles and some scary times too. I cried watching him land back on earth and reunite with his family. I can’t wait to see him again soon when I visit Houston – hopefully in March!

Watch this video to see a recap of his mission. You can also read some of my past blog posts linked below the video for my reporting of his mission.
